Traffic generation is one of the most talked about, most needed, and probably the area where people waste the most amount of money.
You see, people tend to equate traffic with success online. But that is not really the case. What is success online? Is it not the accomplishment of a desired goal, for example, making money online, teaching people about your pet cause, etc. The traffic building is simply one of many tools that you can use to do your goal better and faster. That’s it. Traffic generation is not an end in itself, by any means.
So where do articles fit in? One of the things that people do when they get started online is to get lots of traffic that has no interest in staying at your site or spending money there. They simply happened on your site. No interest.
But with articles, something different occurs. They have already been exposed to you and your style, and have plenty of opportunity to click out of your article. But if they choose to click through to your web site, they are generally genuinely interested.
This incredibly improves the quality of your web traffic, and produces subscribers and buyers rather than tire kickers and freebie-seekers.
So how to do it:
1) Write articles that pertain to the needs of your targeted visitor to your web site. What does the targeted visitor to your web site need most? Give it to him free, in the form of an article.
2) Make the article interesting and stimulating. Give the reader a reason to want to read more from you.
3) Put a call-to-action in your bio, not just your name. Tell the reader to go to your web site, and offer him something for going there.
